Join me on a Journey to Joyfulness

Over the last decade as I have begun as a principal, my life has had many seasons, some filled with overwhelm, stress, anxiety, fear, and doubt, while others have been filled with joy, fulfillment, and purpose. Within the first year of becoming a principal in a brand new school district without familiar mentors or a support network, I got engaged and then married. Not too long after that, we sold two houses and moved. We also had a baby. Personally and professionally, there was a lot happening during my early days of school leadership.

The last ten years have allowed me to grow as a professional and as a person. Who I was on day one of the principalship journey is not who I am today, and is also hopefully not who I will be at the end of my career either. I am a continual work in progress.

Through discovering my purpose as a wife, mother, principal, sister, daughter, and human, I have journeyed on my pathway to finding joy. Research has led me to discover strategies, boundaries, priorities, and mindsets that have been proven to be beneficial for school leaders in maintaining joy, well-being, and work/life satisfaction despite the noise, demands, and challenges that occur on a regular basis. Iā€™m excited to share what I have learned and continue to learn from with you. Joy is possible on each of our pathways if we take the time to find it as we stop, reflect, and revise.
